About Depthly

Depthly is an intentional dating platform built around one idea: meaningful relationships require slowness, reciprocity, and limits. Here's how the product reflects that.

The invitation model

Most apps let you send a like with zero friction. Depthly doesn't. To reach out to someone, you write a short invitation — a real note explaining why you'd like to connect. The recipient reads it and decides whether to accept. Both people opt in before a conversation begins.

Readiness phases

Relationships on Depthly move through four phases: Grounding, Opening, Exploring, and Deepening. These phases reflect where you are emotionally and how ready you are to invest. You complete a readiness assessment when you first join, and your phase shapes what features and prompts are available to you.

The connection cap

You can have at most three active connections and five open matches at any time. This is by design. Depth is incompatible with breadth. When a connection matures into something more, you can promote it to a friendship — opening a new connection slot.

Connection spaces

Each accepted invitation becomes a Connection Space: a shared area between two people that holds your message thread, your shared milestones, and the current phase of your relationship. When a connection is promoted to a friendship, that history carries forward.

RRE behavioral scoring

Depthly tracks three behavioral signals for every member: Response Rate, Response Time Score, and Follow-Through Rate. Together these form an RRE score that helps us surface engaged, reliable members and identify patterns of ghosting, spam, or rapid churn. RRE data informs match quality — it is never shown to other users.

No dopamine loops

There are no swipe streaks, no visible like counts, no algorithmic feed optimised for time-on-site. Notifications are meaningful: you hear when someone accepts your invitation, when a relationship is promoted, or when a message arrives. That's it.
